When it comes to orchestrating her image, Meghan is the master. To date we’ve had Meghan the movie star, Meghan the royal, Meghan the mother and towards the end of last year Meghan the lifestyle brand.
So, to kick off 2025 it was only fitting that Meghan would release an image to signify what to expect from her in the coming months.
Running barefoot and make-up free down a beach towards the sea, with her hair flowing and dressed in a simple white shirt and a pair of cropped white jeans, it was the lack of clothing and visible make-up that spoke volumes.
The 43-year-old didn’t just wake up and throw on the only clean things she happened to have in her wardrobe. Her outfit choice was carefully selected to communicate a clear and important message. Running carefree towards the sea, the setting orchestrated to represent a sense of freedom and a feeling of liberation.
Based on the video clip it looks like 2025 is going to be all about Meghan; not the clothes, not the merchandise (we’ve already been through that phase remember) not her family (been there, done that) , OR her husband, it’s about HER. With her new Instagram account up and running it remains to be seen from the posts that follow exactly what that will be. But something new is coming and it’s coming from a place of newly found freedom.
One thing she Meghan did make clear with her outfit choice however is that this is a new start for her.
By opting to wear head-toe white Meghan is conveying that she wants to leave the past behind firmly behind her and starting again. White not only represents new innocence, it symbolises new beginning and neutrality. Perhaps a hint at how she’s letting go of past conflicts and moving forwards.
White also conveys a sense of austerity and minimalism. As we progress through the year ahead, does this mean Meghan will be simplifying her life, cutting back on things that no longer matter and focusing on herself? Associated with healing, her outfit choice suggests that not only is she letting go but having come to terms with the past, she is now able to carve out a new future.
Most importantly of course, white is calming and refreshing. After a turbulent period is Meghan telling us that she’s found an inner calm and sense of peace? For many white also represents wisdom. Having learnt a lot of life lessons is Meghan telling us that she has learned from her past and by letting go she is now finally fully able to move on?
Poignantly, the message seems to be that Meghan is surrendering to the past, letting go and paving a new future.
